DevLog #3: You are not alone
Hey everyone,
Every old house has its stories. Creaks in the floorboards, whispers in the walls. But what if the house itself is not what's haunted? What if it's the prison for something far worse?
In MINDBOUND, Marty quickly realizes he is not the only inhabitant of his home. There is a presence, a shape that lingers just at the edge of sight, a figure of silent, patient dread. I call her "The Witch".
Her origins are a mystery. Her motives are unknown. She is the warden of this nightmare, the reason the doors won't open. Is she a ghost tied to the property? Or is she a manifestation of Marty's own grief, a shadow he brought home with him?
I wanted to create an antagonist that feels less like a monster and more like an inevitable, creeping dread. Her appearances are rare, but they are deliberate. She isn't just trying to scare you; she is trying to keep you.
Today, I want to give you a slightly clearer glimpse of the figure that will be hunting you. But be warned... getting a good look at her is rarely a good sign.
